Hi, I’m Wendy, an artist, writer, and creator of Creative Visioning.
I believe that any creative journey is a path of self-discovery.
I have a history of saying yes to what calls me.

At some point, early on in my creative life, as far back as high school, when I was developing my own artistic style, I began to trust the creative urges. Over the years, I’ve learned to listen to what is calling to be created and to ask for guidance, with the understanding that the answers would come.
That trust has guided me through the decades of creating.
I am a mixed media artist who has been painting, showing, and selling work for most of my life. I adore a blank canvas… for it holds the beautiful mystery of possibilities and potential. It’s an invitation to play with concepts, ideas, materials, colors, and texture. The visions I receive seem to urge me to bring them to life. Those visions help jumpstart a painting and then I watch as the concept unfolds and the work takes shape… before my eyes. Over time, I have learned that when I ask for the next step, it will show up.
For me, this is a practice. A way of seeing and living that has carried me through the creative peaks and valleys, shifts and turning points. I’ve learned that the perceived detours of life have turned out to be gifts, ushering me to new creative landscapes.
The question that changed everything
In 2012, an inner calling encouraged me to create a gratitude journal. My immediate response was both amusement and doubt. I'm an artist. Who am I to create a gratitude journal? It seemed odd.
But, I said yes anyway.
The Gratitude Habit found its way to readers around the world, and for a time, it reached Amazon's list of top 100 books on happiness. What stayed with me more than anything was the experience of following something that called to me, despite the doubt. Once again, I learned that saying yes, and taking steps in an inspired direction, can lead to an unexpected journey… one I could not have imagined beforehand.
After that, I returned to painting as my primary focus. And for years,
the desire to write and create a whole collection of books, workbooks, journals, and guides for creating one’s life, often showed up to tug at my heart.
Until two years ago, when I listened and made a commitment to follow that nudge, prioritizing the book projects ahead of the paintings. That being said, art and the joy of painting will always be a part of my life. And as always, I will continue to follow what lights me up, trusting the nudges and the next step to take.
