Recently, and spontaneously, I wrote the words I am sharing here below. At the time of writing this, I wasn’t quite sure what a manifesto was, but I felt sure I had just written one. So, I had to look it up.
I learned that a manifesto is a statement with a set of principles, intentions, and point of view written by an individual, group, or movement. It is often constructed to express a plan for change and used by a political movement or an art movement. There was a Cubist Manifesto in 1912, a Dada Manifesto in 1916, and a Surrealist Manifesto in 1924… just to name a few.
This Creative Manifesto is my personal statement of how I choose to approach my creative world and live my life.
A Creative Manifesto
I create what I am called to create.
I tune in and listen to the inner sparks that delight my soul.
I take steps toward what is calling me...
knowing that no step is too small.
I celebrate my forward movement and action.
I travel a creative path of inspiration, following the tugs of my heart.
I am committed to the journey I have been called to live and create.
I am grateful for how far I have come and appreciate everything that has brought me to this day.
I delight in the experience of the creative process.
I choose to soak up every bit of joy that comes my way.
I acknowledge and appreciate the abundance of good in my life.
I choose to fill this life with the people, places, experiences, and creative ventures that I love.
I choose love over fear.
I choose authentic creative expression.
I choose thoughts that support what I want out of life.
I make space for ideas that empower me.
I trust myself to guide my thoughts and actions toward my vision.
I am grateful for the possibilities of what each new day may hold.
I am open to the possibilities that present themselves.
I acknowledge, with gratitude, the synchronicities and woohoo’s that show up for me.
And most of all, I am so very grateful for living a life filled with art and creativity.
If you were going to write your own manifesto, what would you write? What would be your focus of attention?
